Int. Robar - Evening
She flattens her royal flush on the table, scans the expressions of the men who were finally about to have to pay for what they'd done, and outstretches her hand for the money. They respond with laughter and threats, saying they would never pay a woman for something like that. Their joking is interrupted by gun shots and her soft voice naming off each bullet and the person it was for. 6 names roll off her tongue, wives of the cheating men, friends that had disappeared, and lastly the husband they had taken from her. Blood seeps into the red carpets and curtains as she slides all of the money into her Gucci purse, lights a cigarette in her mouth, and exits.
No, this is not a scene from a Quentin Tarantino film...but I'd say I'm not far off. Blame it on my re-watching of Inglorious Bastards earlier this week, or maybe blame it on this killer Pinup Girl Clothing dress, but a fierce female protagonist story is all I could think about creating. After happening across these pink poker chips online, I knew exactly where I wanted this to go. Also, in case you didn't notice, the poker chips say "All Flash No Cash" on them and really how cute is that?! I'm adopting that as some sort of motto of mine, I may not have racks on racks on racks, but I'm pretty good at trying to make a thrift store find look glamorous AF. Pretending to live glamorously is another talent of mine, and thanks to my friend Danni introducing me to Robar, a midcentury themed bar in town, I've been doing a lot more of that lately. That is not a joke, ever since snapping these photos there, I've already been back twice. They have chocolate covered strawberries, are in walking distance from my apartment, and I feel like I'm on a set for Mad Men when I'm there, so why would I not try to go as often as possible?! Pro-tip: wear a full skirted Pinup Girl Clothing dress, leopard heels, and red lipstick for the ultimate experience. Plus, you'll just look like really awesome.
