Rain Dance

jacket and necklaces: forever 21, skirt: fossil, t-shirt: wal-mart, socks: urban outfitters, shoes: nike

As of lately, the weather around here has been nothing but a series of cloudy rainy days. It's definitely a blogging nuisance as it makes it difficult to take pictures and the pictures I do take turn out grey and grainy like some of these are (sorry!). I do, however, love the way it reflects the light off of the sidewalks leaving a glittering effect almost everywhere you go. I've never been to Paris, but I can only imagine how beautiful The City of Lights must be after a storm. The pavements there must really glow. Speaking of Paris, I've noticed that tennis shoes have become quite the Parisian style staple. It was, after all, French fashion blogs that have left me longing for a pair of Air Force 1 high tops since early this summer. Normally, I would style this outfit with some ivory granny booties channeling a Christian Dior Fall 2012 style, but with some new inspiration I switched it up with some Nike's for this look du jour. My motto when it comes to sneakers? Keep your Converse dirty and your Nike's fresh. I'm pretty sure it's a universal standard.

Merry Christmas

tutu, leotard, and tights: capezio

If there's one thing that I look forward to in December, it's The Nutcracker. Whether I'm watching or performing I love seeing the story be told, and the ballet be supported, year after year. Now, ballet has always had a significant influence on my style, but since today basically resembles the end of Nutcracker season, I thought it was only appropriate to take it to the max and play the part of Clara by putting on full class attire, my practice tutu, and clutching my favorite nutcracker. Any excuse to wear a tutu is a good excuse to me! Now in  my pajamas it appears that I'll be closing out the night listening to some Serial. That's a good thing to fall asleep on, right...? Well, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Heartbreak Milkshake

jacket and top: forever 21, shorts: vintage, tights: target, shoes: converse

You don't know awkward until you find yourself strutting into a diner full of customers one night asking for a birthday cake milkshake and permission to take pictures for your personal style blog. I can usually manage to find locations that don't end up making me the complete center of attention, but in this case, I really just needed the black, white, and red 50's style interior or else this post wouldn't have been everything I wanted it to be. You know what they say, location is everything. In this case though, I only partly agree because I obviously want to talk about the outfit. Gingham in December? Why not. Gingham and polka dots together? Absolutely. My love for mixing prints isn't going anywhere soon people. And of course no winter outfit is complete until I accidentally create a run in a brand new pair of tights. However, it all looks perfectly pulled together under the leather jacket I got out of a hot rod at the drive in the other night...nope never mind it's the one I got at Forever 21. Coulda' sworn! Must be a memory from a past life haha.

Heart of Stone

jacket, blouse, and tights: forever 21, shoes: asos, shorts: desirae danielle, flower crown: me

Having a <3 for castles (think more Game of Thrones kind, less Disney World's Cinderella) and all things royal, I'm of course drawn to spots like this one that remind me of a Valentino ad. And when am I ever not trying to recreate something like that, right? While I definitely dream of lying on ivy covered stone walls draped in Valentino and jewels, umm I'm on that Forever 21 budget, know what I mean? I'm not complaining though, because Forever 21 really can create some beautiful pieces like this Victorian inspired blouse, which just begs to be worn with a crown of flowers.

With that said, I have to leave this link here because 1. it's fun to dream 2. Christmas is coming 3. yeah, back to number 1
