Dancer at Dawn

bustier: forever 21, skirt: alexandra grecco, sweater: old navy

It's pure beauty to me, the way the light shines through windows at certain parts of the day. From the pale light of the morning to the afternoon glow, I'm drawn to the beckoning window. One of my favorite ballet classes that I've ever taken was during one of these points of the day. I loved how the light would shine through like a spotlight on the stage, and created silhouettes that danced with more grace than our trained physical bodies. This is the look and feeling that I was trying to recreate the other morning with delicate pieces like a lace bustier and tulle skirt paired with a chunky sweater and warm cup of coffee. (I woke up like dis..err minus the makeup...) I only wish I could've stayed there all day just dreaming and dancing. A good morning indeed.

For today, I'm wishing my cousin Adeline, the only girl I know able to pull off a hospital gown, a quick recovery from her surgery yesterday, making Autumn's day with some Thanksgiving turkey, and maybe catching up on some Mad Men. Have a good one!

Autumn Leaves Falling Down Like Pieces Into Place

dress: Desirae Danielle (that's me! www.desiraedanielle.com), socks: american apparel, shoes: asos

It was a rather simple outfit for today, but one of my favorites nonetheless. If you've been reading my blog for a while, than you've probably recognize this dress from my Desirae Danielle collection lookbook. It was, and still is, one of my very favorite designs out of all of them. A circle skirt along with lace embellishments just does something to me, like make me head outside and pretend to be (or maybe actually be) caught up in a daydream and falling to the ground like the autumn leaves.

Anyone else watching the American Music Awards tonight? So far I've watched, and rewound, and watched again Taylor Swift's performance, applauded both Ariana Grande's black dress and remixed songs, and couldn't look away from Lorde for a second. Oh, Iggy is about to do something, gotta go!

Tell Me What You Dream Of

blouse and tights: forever 21, skirt: american apparel, shoes: aldo, sweater: old navy

This is me trying to brighten up an otherwise completely grey day with pieces of pink and mustard. Considering temperature have been literally freezing this week, I'm hoping it will begin to warm up at least a little. I sure do miss the sunshine. Until then though, I'm keeping it cozy in my trusty over sized men's sweater that has lasted me about three winter seasons already. That sweater to me is like a "blankey" to a little kid. We've just been through so much together! Andddd I'm gonna stop before that gets to weird. As attached as I am to the thing, I am on the hunt for some other warm clothes, as I have found that I get carried away with buying summer clothes and then try to make them work with some layers for the winter, BUT it's just getting to cold this year to mess around with that. Hence, the probably 20 something online shopping tabs that I've got open right now... Goin' up on Tuesday, am I right?

OOTD Lookbook Video

Meanwhile on YouTube... I've been uploading some of my recent outfits in video form. If you liked any of the photos from THIS post, THIS post, or THIS post, just click the above video to see them LIVE! Other videos you should probably be checking out (BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE !...I don't know why I'm talking like an OxyClean commercial, but I agree it has to stop. RIP Billy Mays.)... Ahem, anyways, other videos that you should probably be checking out include Taylor Swift's video for "Blank Space", but it's incredibly beautiful, incredibly well directed, and incredibly styled! WATCH HOW QUICKLY TAYLOR SWIFT CAN ROCK YOUR WORLD! (last time, I promise.) Seriously though, I want every outfit she wears in it. I also want the car she beats up, and the house that she lives in. Santa, you listening?

G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S.

dress: vintage, socks: american apparel, shoes: ebay, coat: missguided

G.L.A.M.O.R.O.U.S. is more than just a beloved throw back Fergie song, but is also exactly how I feel in this little mod 60's dress. I first wore it as my Halloween costume styled a bit differently as Lana Del Rey (is anyone even surprised?), and have been looking for opportunities to wear it ever since. Lace, sparkles, and pastel colors are truly the way to my heart. With all this fanciness already going on, adding a leopard print fur coat only seemed proper. Just enough pretty, just enough pimp. "Pretty and Pimp", let's make that my new motto. HA!

Other things happening in life include my traditional Taylor Swift concert tour ticket purchase (AJDFKDJAFU YESSSSS I'M SO EXCITED!), learning to work a new lens that I just bought to hopefully make some pretty cool outfit videos, and trying not to give into the leftover Halloween candy we have around here. It just sits there though...staring at me...calling me by name! I'm powerless in it's presence. Wish me luck.
