Ice Princess

top: anthropologie, bottoms: asos, necklace: charming charlie's, heels: ebay, coat: missguided

The winter weather always seems to mute the color of the world around it. A blue sky becomes gray, the once colorful trees are now bare, and a light mist seems to always be lingering in the air. Sometimes, this seasonal change does seem to get to me, as I am a lover of summer and the sun itself, and not seeing it for so long does make me feel a bit numb. I really can't wait for spring to come, and inside I'm so hopeful that it's soon, both for wardrobe and general happiness/inspiration reasons. Plus, this girl needs a tan.

Today, I found myself matching my outfit to the sky, but tried to keep it from being completely dull with funky textures, different silhouettes, and some sparkly pastels. The bottoms still give me that balletic look that I love so dearly, while the top and necklace feel rather glamorous. It's fair to say I've never felt more like an ice princess in my entire life.

Stay warm and whimsical, my friends!

Winter Swan

black and white outfit, monochrome outfit, classy outfit, audrey hepburn style,

button up: gap, tank top, necklace, shoes: forever 21, skirt: free people (old), coat: missguided

The quote, "smile through the pain" takes on a whole new meaning when trying to take pictures in temperatures that are lower than my age and wind that makes you wish ski masks were a current fashion trend. Northerners would probably read this and laugh, but honestly, us Tennesseans are not used to these icy temperatures. Braving the weather, I went out to a spot I've grown to particularly like, mostly because the brick wall reminds me of the ones I passed in New York City's East Village, and jumped around trying not to go completely numb in my black tulle skirt and white button up. Caught at the right moment I might've looked as though I was reenacting scenes from Swan Lake, I'm just not sure if it was the Black Swan or White Swan in this monochrome ensemble.

Hope you all are keeping warm! May your best tights not rip, and your coffee be an endless supply!

OOTD Lookbook Video

Meanwhile on YouTube... I've been uploading some of my recent outfits in video form. If you liked any of the photos from THIS post, THIS post, or THIS post, just click the above video to see them LIVE! Other videos you should probably be checking out (BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE !...I don't know why I'm talking like an OxyClean commercial, but I agree it has to stop. RIP Billy Mays.)... Ahem, anyways, other videos that you should probably be checking out include Taylor Swift's video for "Blank Space", but it's incredibly beautiful, incredibly well directed, and incredibly styled! WATCH HOW QUICKLY TAYLOR SWIFT CAN ROCK YOUR WORLD! (last time, I promise.) Seriously though, I want every outfit she wears in it. I also want the car she beats up, and the house that she lives in. Santa, you listening?

Because, you are my flower.

dress: the white pepper, shoes: asos, socks: urban outfitters, hat: missguided

I often think, that humans aren't all that different from flowers. Turning our faces to the sun, we stare out windows from propped up elbows like stems, and feel a sense of being when we step out for some fresh air. Maybe, the whole world is a garden after all?

I am proud to say that I am officially an owner of a The White Pepper dress. I have been lusting over the brand for what seems like ever, but just haven't ordered anything before because of international shipping and all that, but hey look who finally took the plunge! Anyways, it's gingham, and has that cute baby doll fit that makes me feel like spinning, while also allowing me to whatever I want that day and completely hides any trace of a bloated food baby. I would also like to acknowledge that this is my first time breaking out the knee socks since cool weather last left us. As sad as I am to see summer go, I am excited to begin creating outfits with what is my favorite accessory, except for flower crowns.

In other news, tomorrow is the beginning of Music Midtown, and I will be heading down to see some of my favorites Iggy, Lorde, Jack White, and I still haven't completely wrapped my mind around this one, but LANA DEL REY! Dreams come true people. Dreams come true.

She's a Peach

blouse: vintage, pinafore: asos, socks: missguided, shoes: aldo

All my life I have wished for the perfect pinafore, and at last I've found it. It's cut from the most darling shade of denim into the sweetest silhouette, immediately turning me into an urban princess upon slipping it over my head. Plus, it's the perfect length, which is so hard for me to find in a pinafore. Usually, when I try one on the straps are too long, making the bib and skirt hit at awkward lengths since I'm a little shorter than average height. Unfortunately, we can't all have Alexa Chung's legs.

So, today I wore this outfit to one of the cutest fruit stands around. Brightly painted in that Tennessee orange and filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and some really kind humans who even offered to take my pictures for me, haha! That was an offer I had to decline, but I did say yes to a cup of peaches to take home with me. I also have some cool news to share, tomorrow begins Chattanooga Fashion Week, which means my Desirae Danielle clothing line will be hitting the runway for the very first time ever. It's not NYFW by any means, but it is a start.
