It's August the ninth, and today she is 23. She clutches her party dress tight to her chest and begins to spin, laughing as she watches the tulle swirl around her knees. Carefully, she steps into the sea of yellow and zips it up the side. Leaning into the mirror she coats her eyelashes with dark mascara and paints her lips red. With a sigh she falls back onto her bed wondering what the night might hold.
That's right everybody, happy birthday to me! Even though I feel like 23 is so old, I still get pretty excited about my birthday. This year, it was spent with a vintage/antiquing trip to Atlanta with two of my best friends, during which I laid my eyes upon this pretty yellow party dress. As soon as I saw it hanging up on the little store's wall, I knew I wanted to see it doing the same thing in my own closet everyday. Plus, I couldn't imagine anything more lovely to spend my birthday in. I wonder what the parties were like that it was worn to in the past? To finish the night off, I went to dinner at one of my favorite Italian restaurants, consumed a week's worth of sugar, and caught up on the latest episode of Mr. Robot, which is in fact my latest binge watch. Computer coding hasn't held much of an interest within me since the MySpace days when you needed to know the basics to pimp out your profile, but this show is so brilliantly done that it can make anyone wish they were a bad a hacker girl (or dude). Even me.
