Int. Studio - Night
ANTONIO, the director, taps the ash from his cigarette, refocuses his camera and begins sending directions followed by compliments in her direction.
She flips her hair over her shoulder, arches her back, looks delightedly into the light.
Yes! You're golden, darling. 14 karats, baby. America is gonna love this.
She moved gracefully through poses before changing outfits and beginning again. Each flash of the camera illuminates her face and her eyes erupt with sparkles.
Money. All of it. You've really done it this time, kid. I think we've got all we need. Is someone walking you out? You'll ask the doorman won't you?
Ok, good. Take it easy the rest of the night, ok? I'll call you in the morning. Love you, kitten.
Alone, she stands there the light still shining brightly on her body when she begins to get the eerie feeling she isn't alone. She looks around each side of the light and camera towards the door.
Antonio? Hello? Are you there?
Feeling something building behind her she turns to see her shadow grow to a disturbing size and bring its hands up towards it's throat. She screams and runs only to fall over Antonio's chair. As her eyes begin to adjust to the light she she's a figure reaching down towards her. Kicking and scratching she tries to fight it off until she finally recognizes the voice that was yelling back at her.
Stop it, darling, stop! It's me, it's just me. Calm down. What's gotten into you?
(breathless and wiping tears)
I-I-I thought you had left. I called out and I didn't hear you and I got scared and I thought I saw something I'm sorry.
He helps her up, gathers her things, and walks her to the door.
Here, I'll drive you home. Have another cigarette won't you?
Dissolve to her apartment. She unlocks the door and Antonio walks her in.
Thank you, Antonio. You really didn't have to help me home.
Well, I wasn't just going to leave you there like that. You nearly sent me to the grave screaming like that.
He walks her to the bathroom, runs hot water in the tub and throws her a robe.
Are you good now?
Yes, I'm okay. I just scared myself. I'm sorry.
It happens, baby. If you're okay then I'm gonna head out. I'm just a phone call away, okay?
He kisses her on the forehead and exits the apartment.
She sighs as she pulls bobby pins from her hair and reaches for a bottle of champagne. She pours herself a glass and slides into the tub. Feeling her self relax she closes her eyes and sinks deeper beneath the water. Moments pass and she begins to hear a draining noise. Confused, she opens her eyes noticing the stop of the tub moving around as if something were trying to push it off. She watches, frozen, until finally it removes itself and she feels her body being drawn towards the drain along with the water. Scrambling desperately she grabs a towel and stuffs it down until the water stops swirling.
Hollywood's brightest star had found herself fighting something very dark.
Yeah, I don't know about you, but I'm pretty excited it's October if only for horror's sake. TIME TO WATCH ALL THE SCARY MOVIES...and probably not sleep for the next 31 (or whatever it is now) days. I definitely intend to do my share of partaking in all the spookiness this month has to offer including creating some of my own scary stories starting with today! (Maybe I could even work out a video?!?!?!) Hope you'll enjoy this excerpt of a self written horror screenplay/photo series of an Old Hollywood star who has everything going for her, except for the fact that she is being haunted by something very dark...SPOILER(ish): herself.
Definitely enjoyed dressing up, or more like down, for these photos. They may not show an outfit as well as my normal pictures, and for that I'm sorry, but I've got a lot of posts coming to make it up to ya! Until then, enjoy scrolling through these and as always, feel free to let me know what you think.
