Ext. Nikki's Drive In - Day
Sipping on a freshly popped Coke she slips another quarter in the jukebox just as the sun begins to set behind the city skyline. She tightens her ponytail and orders a side of fries before pulling the stranger in the booth across from her on the floor to dance.
Two pants outfits in a row? What in the what? It must seem a bit odd coming from a skirt/dress loving type loving type like myself, but I gotta say it's been cold and that hasn't given me much motivation to keep my legs perfectly shaved every single day. Ladies, I know you feel me. I like to refer to this specific pair of denim as my Elvis jeans, as they never fail to put my in a 50's, rep lip, cold Coke, and bobby socks, sort of mood. Not one to fight that sort of thing, I pulled on my new Coca-Cola sweater that I'm pretty obsessed with, a polka dot bandanna that I don't wear often enough, and my ruffle socks and black heels, which I might wear a little too often...¯\_(ツ)_/¯. A little personal bit about me, I have a bit more of an attachment to Coca-Cola than most people might, as my late Papaw used to work there so the logo was found all in my grandparent's house, including the upside down glass Coke bottle that he stuck in the end of their fence and no one chose to remove. It's the one thing that everyone in my family can feel some sort of connection to, so I like wearing this sweater for more than just it's cute design, but for the smile it would probably put on my Granny's face.
This outfit seemed like the perfect one to wear for dinner at Chattanooga's second oldest restaurant, Nikki's Drive-In, which is still true to it's original design from when it used to operate as a drive-in (I wish so bad it still did!) rather than a walk in restaurant, and has a gorgeous overlook of the city. Night or day, this is the place to have a hamburger and a Coke...and a smile. Sorry, had to it.
