Ext. Fabric Care Laundromat - Day
Quarters jingle in her pocket as she walks towards the laundromat. She turns and stares behind her sunglasses into the sun while flashbacks play through her mind.

Hello humans! I hate that I haven't been on in like 4 days, it's been pouring rain and I've been staring out the window willing it to stop so I could get out and shoot some new pictures. Today, I finally got my wish. It's 70 and beautiful and sunny and I am ALIVE! My hopes are high that this weather won't go N.E. WHERE. Also, I don't intend to go anywhere either. I hate it when I let weather/work/personal family whatever get in the way of my posting, as this is something I really really love to do. So, no matter what the obstacle, I am fully back on my about every two day post grind.

While I clearly have a thing for taking pictures in hotels, laundromats can pretty much go ahead and be added to that list since this makes the second post in front of one. I just feel like real life regular places make for good settings to stories and movie scene, especially when you put interesting characters in them, which of course is how I like to think of each post. When I drove past this coin cleaner's establishment, I immediately imagined this pink tweed jacket in front of the blue background, and then combined it with the peter pan collar blouse, black shorts, and some white platform sandals (breaking these babies out again now, heyyyy), for a bit of a 60's feel. I had hoped to do some cute beehive thing with my hair, but it just wasn't having it today, so I fixed it the way any girl who grew up in the 90's would...with a headband.

Now, focusing on another fragment of this photo, you may be scrolling through like "Desirae why so angry looking?" or "Why the lack of emotion?" Well humans, that would be because of some creepy man who noticed me taking pictures outside and decided it would be kosher to stand ONLY 2 feet away, stare at me, and send creepy comments and sound effects my way. Fun fact: it's not kosher. It's really none of your business "what a pretty thing like myself" is taking pictures for. I don't appreciate your comments about how glad you are that it is shorts weather again. And even more uncomfortable are the comments you didn't make, but that I could feel crawl all over me with your perverted 50 something year old eyes. Needless to say, I didn't quite feel myself with an old man in a wife beater, khaki cargos, and worn in Reeboks, who had to exit the cleaners and cross the entire parking lot to get to me, invading my personal space. You can argue that I am asking for things like that to happen by choosing to take pictures in public places, and to a point, that is true. By no means, do I expect to not get weird glances or questions on why I am taking pictures. None of that really bothers me, and the questions are welcomed, as spreading the word about the blog is good. However, it still makes me angry when sketchy men go out of their way to make me uncomfortable. As you can see here, I was not wearing anything scandalous. I just have had it with cat calling and uncomfortable situations with weird men like this, as it's certainly not my first. Please, just treat me as a normal human being, not a piece of meat, and not as if I am about to start filming some porno for you here in front of this laundromat. I've expressed my feelings and other (much worse) experiences of this previously on stopthecatcalll.tumblr.com, and I encourage everyone to go read other people's stories and submit their own as well. No, we won't be able to stop dirty old men from creeping, but maybe we could help draw attention to the issue and get each other some more R. E. S. P. E. C. T. on the streets. Forgive my rant, it's just one of my "buttons", know what I mean?

Hope there's sunshine where you are!
