Here's to the mornings when you wake up feeling oh so retro. When nothing but oversized sunglasses and a drop waist dress will do, and the sunlight pouring through your window is insisting you get up and out in it. Turns out it was the perfect outfit choice, as I felt like a little urban flower child walking the streets of downtown, and stopping to take these pictures right behind the building I work in. Here's to pink, love, and happiness. Ha!

Btw, notice anything different about my pictures? Maybe they're a bit more clear? (I mean besides the grain I added to them...) Well, that's because I finally got a new lens! The 50mm f/1.8 *insert Biggie's "I got that good good girl, don'tcha know?" here* This is the first round of pictures I've gotten to take with it, and I'm excited to see the ones I'll create with a bit more practice.

So, I'm pressing pause on my normal outfit posts today to introduce something that I've been working quite hard on. Years ago, the dream of owning my own clothing line and producing my own designs was instilled in me. I remember being just a little kid and watching my Granny sew up pillows and homemade dresses, and I was always so mesmerized by the patterns, the machine, and the outcome. Flash forward a few years, and I'm making my own clothes, and realizing that that's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. So, after much hard work of planning and executing, here is my very first collection, Among the Clouds. Among the Clouds, tells the story of a girl lost in her thoughts. Lying in the afternoon sun, she relives memories locked in her diary, and daydreams of places she will go, and the love that she will find. We're officially two days into June, summer is in the air, and the sun has taken over the sky. It seemed only natural to ring in the warm weather month staring up at the clouds with a freshly picked bouquet of wildflowers and an ice cold Coke. Sometimes you just need to take an hour to relax, get some fresh air, and make some new tan lines be your biggest worry. (Shout out to all my people rocking the farmer's tan. Been there. Done that.) For the record though, I probably wouldn't mind having this crochet pattern imprinted around my waist. It'd be kinda cool right? Like in a really weird sort of way?

Blue jeans. White shirt. A combination so perfect that Lana sings about it, and one that wears easily down to the lake for a morning cup of coffee beneath the just risen sun. If only I could take my coffee like that every day! 

You'll have to pardon my harsh jump in conversation, but I just finished binge watching the first season of True Detective, and it's all I can really process right now.  Literally, I'm somewhere between freaked out, happy, and teary eyed. Rust and Marty foreverrrrrrrrrrr! Oh, and also sorry for wearing so much denim lately, it's just really what I've been living in! Can you blame me?

Well hello Internet, I know it's been almost a week, and I do apologize. I hope you'll accept these pictures of me looking a bit vintage in high waisted shorts, polka-dots, and a fancy satin bow tie as my apology. I'm currently in this rush of work stuff, so I haven't had much time to take pictures. I know these aren't even my best photos, but I have some better ones planned for later this week! Anyways, since these are up we should probably talk about this top. We first met in Forever 21 and have become bff ever since. It's light polka dot fabric already has me wanting to wear it every day, then top that off with a bow tie, and suddenly "I'm so fancyyyy, you already know!". Or well, in my mind anyways.
